edited April 2011 in Pregnant
I'm 13 weeks and have had a constant headache for about a week now. I've taken regular tylonol and it goes away for a bit, but ot always comes back. Last time i was at my drs i had low blood pressure. What should i do? Any advice would be great...

  • Drink some caffeine if you had stopped cause your Preg. I had the absolute worst headache for 3 days after being hospitalized. Drank a cup of coffee and it was gone in 5 minutes.
  • Omg I have had the same damn headache to for over a week I take tyenol n I tried sutafed?sp... drank caffeine etc. Nothing makes it completely go away. Driving me nuts. I'm 11 weeks. Are u dizzy sometimes too?
  • Try a chiropractor, I go about twice a month. I get terrible tension headaches due to my neck being tight and out of alignment. Usually after a treatment my headache is gone.
  • I Have been dealing with the same thing for two weeks now.. My doctor just prescribed me fioricet tablets which is a caffeine pill. Within half an hour my headache was gone. I have also been taking warm baths in candle light and trying to keep light out in my room when my migraines come on. I was like you where tylenol barely touched it. I would just give your doc a call and see what he or she recommends. I hope the above tips help a little. I totally feel your pain!
  • I also have low blood pressure and I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the headaches... My next appt isnt until next fri though :(
@urmomwasright I have been dizzy too eapecially when I stand up and have the throbbing head pain too. I'm sure tore doc can help you out with something too. It sucked to be in so much pain for such a long period of time..
  • Drink tons of water.
  • LOTS of water. I take extra strength tylenol. I would also try some caffeine, although some would advise against that. I also put a cold cloth on the back of my neck and a cold cloth over my eyes And forehead.
    Hope that helps! Feel better!
  • @urmomwasright- yeah nothing in the world works for me. And yeah i have dizzy spells so bad and often i don't trust myself to pick up my 2 yr old little girl.
  • Contact your doctor. Your blood pressure may be getting too low. Preeclampsia is also something that gives headaches and dizziness. Better to get checked out
  • @eiralynnesmommy- yeah i call my dr and that's one thing their worried about. At my last apt my blood pressure wasn't low enough to be super concerned about but it was lower then normal. I go this tues to check everything.
  • My blood pressure is normal but I've had this damn headache for like a month and I can't seem to shake it for more than a day my doc said it was not pregnancy relayed well for me at least but when I get up to go to the bathroom or if I climb stairs or if I cry my headache is extreme and it pounds so hard they told me I can only take tylenol and the neurologist will not see me till I deliver and finish breast feeding its horrible
