I tested positive for it with my third. Its just a simple antibiotic they give to you in your IV before birth. I almost didn't make it to the hospital in time for it. That's the first thing they did when I got there and right after I had it I had my daughter. At least I got it into me before I had her. It's more harmful for the baby mostly then you is what I was told. It's not to much to be concerned about if you know you have it they can fix it!!!
Its not an std, it is a bacteria that like 50% of women carry in there rectum, but if it shows up in your vagina or urine, they will give you antibiotic during delivery, cause if they didn't it could cause anything from blindness to death for your baby.
I tested positive. All you have to have is IV antibiotics during labor. It isn't harmful to you at all, it is harmful to the baby. IV antibiotics are safe for you and the baby both and it will make it so you do not pass the infection to baby. It is not an STD at all, it is a bacteria 50-60% of normal, healthy women carry in their vaginal/rectum area. You will get a bag of antibiotics every 4 hours until baby is delivered.
I had it with my last pregnancy does this mean I will have it with this one as well ....when do they usually test for it or do they test often throughout the pregnancy
@natenrileysmom no it doesn't mean you will have it again, every pregnancy is different but if you test negative, since you had it with your first they will give you the option of having medication again for safety precautions. They check you between 34 and 37 weeks, usually not anytime sooner or later
I didn't have it with my first two, had it with my thrid and not with my fourth! Very well explained Mommyoftwoprincesses!!! If you want to know more about it Mz_mommie just google it like I said! I did and I read about it all bc I freaked out! But as along as you have the antibiotic you will be fine!
