edited April 2011 in Health
Any suggestions for treatment after baby, not ready for a hysterectomy as I may want more babies, I was on pills before but so hard to remember, what worked for you??

  • @ashleyfew thanks for responding, I did Lupron for 9 months and that was horrible, though I did end up getting pregnant roughly a year after, so maybe it worked but will not do it again. Curious though, surgical ablation sounds kinda like what the baby will do for you when born?
  • I have suspected that i have endo since Dec 09. I have been diagnosed with fibroids for about 4 yrs & have had pain with my periods but starting dec 09 the pain was diff. I would get so bloated right b4 my period & the pain was too much to handle unless i took vicoden. My dr would just treat the pain & refused to diagnose me or check for endo. In feb 2010, i started trying to conceive, the doctor said that in aug if i wasnt preg then they would send me to a fertility dr. My fiance did not have insurance & the testing was expensive so decided to wait until after the wedding in oct so he would be added to my insurance. In sept i got preg, but m/c in oct. I bleed heavy for 3 weeks straight. My next period was completely pain free. It felt like the m/c cleared everything out. The next month i got prego. So i never found out if i actually had endo, and am scared after the baby comes the pain will return. I was thinking of having a hysterectomy if the pain returns.

  • I have endo, took bc before, figure I'll have to go back on it after the baby. I've actually still had pretty bad cramps since getting pregnant. I don't know if the endo makes round ligament pain/uterine expansion more painful.
  • I have endometriosis, they told me it would be harder to get pregnant with it but a lot of times when you do get pregnant your body naturally reverses it so that's what I'm counting on. Anyone else hear this?

@ashleyfew Thank you for sharing so much of your story and knowledge, I have had one Laparoscopy and my Endo has also spread to my bowels, very painful, which is also why I thought a hysterectomy may be pointless

@HomeBirthAdvocate I am pregnant with my 2nd child and had Endo pain during both pregnancies and it came back after having my daughter, so I assume it will come back after my son, nice if it didn't though

@lhanafi they say the baby can "bring" out a lot of the disease with it but didn't help me and I know a couple other ppl who still suffer after having 1-2 children
