Sick. :[ Help me.

Since last night I hadn't been feeling to good. And I was restless all night trying to sleep. My throat, and ears hurt. My nose is kinda stuffy, and my head feels like its puffed up. Lmao. I'm a Pharmacy Technician, and I know what I can take meds "safely", but I would rather not take anything at all. I still think theres gotta be some sort of risk to the baby. (Then again, I've seen doctors prescribe Narcotics and other `ish to prego women. I don't get it.) ANYWAYS, lol, I lost my train of thought, Is there anything you all did, or used, (non-medication wise) to help you get better? Other than Orange Juice Idk what to do.

  • @0911MommyOf2 Thank you. (: It sucks cuz It's actually nice outside AND I have a day off. I work 6 day's a week, and tomorrow I have a 10 hour shift, so I don't wanna "waste" the day away sleeping. *Sigh.

When my throat was sore I warmed a lime and mixed the juice with honey and drank it... it helped my throat tremendously. Hope something works for you soon... if u have vicks, rub your neck and wrap it with a scarf and put a liittle in your nostrils and wrap up in your warm blanket. Sweating it out while im sick usually wakes me up feeling a lot better
  • My mom always use to tell me to go out in the sun but I was too lazy but from the times I've tried it it helps maybe take a walk and nap after
  • I really loved mint tea with honey when I was sick. It feels kinda good to try to sniff the warm, minty steam, and it can be soothing on a sore throat.

A hot shower can help loosen up some mucus, too. I finished cleaning up and then aimed the shower head on the wall, made the water super hot, and just breathed it in deep for a few minutes.

And I would steal all the pillows so I could lay propped up for better drainage.

Oh, and of course the NeilMed sinus irrigation was awesome. I like the squeeze bottle more than the neti pot because you can give it a little more pressure. Not so much you send it in to your ears, but just enough to help it along. And you don't have to hold your head at such an uncomfortable angle.
