Question about first sonogram

Hello everyone! I'm a first time mom and was wondering if someone could tell me if the first sonogram is performed vaginally or over the stomach??

Usually externally, unless you have problems. I've had aabout 20 sonograms over the years, and only 3 were vaginal.

Tht really depends on ur doctor, my doctor likes to do both at about 6 to 7 weeks, as they can see everything better vaginally

I'm an ultrasound tech and our protocol is to do both. First you fill your bladder and they do one over your pelvis. Then you urinate and the do the endovaginal exam. Later on in your pregnancy it will just be over your pelvis.
