Failed my 3 hr. gluclose test and depressed

:-S. Did anyone else fail their gluclose test and or have any words to help ease my mind. My doctor said it will go away after he is born but I fee like I did something wrong. I am scheduled for a sonogram and GD teaching and dieting tomorrow morning. Just feeling down.

  • I'm 32 weeks and 4 days and at 30 4 days weeks my baby boy was already 5lbs according to my doctors estimate on measurements.

    Sorry, I didn't pass the test easier. For what it's worth I haven't gained alot of weight because they changed my diet pretty drastically. I've only gained 8 lbs and I'm 35 weeks so there is hope of not having to lose a ton of weight after the baby is born and I've found lower carb foods that are tastey so if I want to lose the weight afterward it will be easier ;) . Good luck and if you need to vent several of us are in the boat.

    They haven't done an ultrasound yet but I swear my baby has got to be 7-8 lbs already. And getting bigger by the day. Hopefully I'll deliver early and not late ;))
  • Thanks. I'm hoping for an early delivery as well. I have 7.5 weeks or less to go so I'm just hoping for a healthy baby. Thanks for the outlook on weight gain. I didn't even think about that aspect.
  • I am pregnant with baby #6 and this is the first one i have had gestational diabetes with and I didnt change anything I did during the pregnancy, so you didn't do anything wrong. I am on a diet, its not real hard to follow, what was hard for me is eating 6 meals instead of the 2 I usually ate. But i am keeping my sugars within range with just diet.
    Now the baby's size is on the large side. She was 8 lbs at 36 weeks and putting on about a pound a week. So if i make it to 39 weeks we will induce!
  • I failed it at 6 weeks into my, pregnancy. Im pricking my finger 4 times a day n insulin twice a day n I jus had my check up n im now 17+5 they just gave me a different insulin to mix with the one I have now. So thats 4 shots to the stomach everyday :( n wanted to prick 7 instead of 4. Omg im frustrated but I want my baby to be ok.

    @ammasmama- I wonder if they will tell me something similar if he is close to or already 6 lbs today when I have the sonogram. I jut can't imagine working and moving around with an 8 to 9 lb baby in my belly. Some days now it is difficult to find energy to do anything after I come home from work.

    Im overweight and pretty sure I have GD.my last preg I failed my 1st and passed my 2nd.I was horribly sick the whole preg and my son was born 10lbs.im feeling worse this pregnancy im 25wks I've already had one test im calling 2day to find out results.even if im not I want to eat even more heather than I am now.I haven't gained any weight yet.my last preg I only gained 10lbs.after my last I also had to have my gallbladder removed so I eat alot of fat free food.
  • My sister failed hers when she was pregnant with my nephew. The doctor didn't understand it at all; she was doing everything by the book. But she did just fine, she just had to adjust to a new diet for a while and check her blood glucose levels throughout the day.

    @lucky7 if you have time to cook in the morning it helps me if I start off with some form or eggs bacon sausage bread and maybe peppers and onions. So I will usually make a bacon egg and cheese muffin (with ketchup) and drink water or crystal light. (My downfall is sweets) the english muffin is about 26 carbs. Which is around my limit of 30 for breakfast. I have tried to eat an omelet eggs chz turkey sausage peppers onions with a side of fruit or yogurt but for me the yogurt makes my sugars go high :( it could be different fir you though. We have switched to dannon light and fit yogurt because its 16 carbs you can try two eggo waffles or pancakes with either (or both) eggs and bacon/sausage. I have never had success with any cereal.

    Lean cuisine makes multiple entrees that are less than 45 carbs. If they r around 30 carbs and I'm sick of bacon and eggs I will have one for breakfast. I'll usually have one closer to 45 carbs for lunch. Grilled cheese with fruit or a turkey/ham melt on bread with fruit or milk is about 45 carbs too.

    I love the Edys no sugar added fruit bars. They are 5 carbs and I snack on them all the time. I think they taste better than the sugar free popsicles. Jello.makes a pudding called sweet temptations that is sugar free and they r about 5 carbs too

    Sometimes if im trying to be really healthy I'll make a spinach salad with seasoned lean meat (pork or chicken) pears,cheese, and a spicy vinagrette (or just balsamic) and bacon.
