He has even changed at first he was all friendly and always rubbing up against me now he hisses & runs & hide from me but late at night he crawls into bed with me & lays right in my stomach & goes to sleep. Wooww!
My dog was the same way at first i rescued him when he was 4 months and he grew very attached to me a total love bug and i got pregnant when he reached a year old at first he didn't want to come around me would stare at me all sad now I'm about to be six months and he is used to me again he loves to cuddle again just give kitty time don't force him to do anything animals totally sense the changes and he knows something is up with his momma remember he had all your attention first and when baby comes id advise u notto let the cat near they have been known to suffocate infants for i guess different reasons
I've heard that one too but im the youngest in my family I have lots if neices & nrohews that I babysat in infant stage. I've had him fir years & he's never done it to any of them
But this is different its YOUR baby and in his perspective it could be an attention thing a jealousy thing u never know with animals. I love my two dogs with all my heart but I'm not letting them into the nursery or around my baby until they are used to the new scent around the house and also we as pet owners have to introduce the animals to baby slowly its like bringing a new puppy or kitten home its in their territory and it could cause hostility. Just be safe and take it slowly when baby arrives good luck with your new bundle of joy and i hope the best with your kitty hopefully he will adjust perfectly fine and everyone gets along its totally possible and its so sad to see animals go to shelters because of new babys but it happens a lot because of hostility
My Cats knew I was pregnant before I did. I remember thinking I must have cancer our something bc they were alllll over me. Never thought about being pregnant. Which I should have, I have 2 small kids.
@snreda my cat was the same way. After "torturing" her with ringworm treatments she was very skittish around me then out of no where she started wanting to be in my lap all the time. I thought it was so strange. About a week later I found out I was pregnant.
I change my litter box. I just wear gloves and scrub up to my elbows after. I wonder if that's why my cat got all weird. He disappeared for a month and now he tries to sleep with me, he hasn't done that since he was a kitten.
I think its particles you breath in during litter box changing that's really bad during pregnancy, not 100% sure but that's what I remember being told, so I would maybe check with your doc? Better to be safe
Its actually in the poop. Even the videos in my obgyn office says its really difficult to get from your cat. You are more likely to get it from dirt in your yard. I still use gloves and wash my hands after just to be safe.
