Am I Wrong for only wanting 1 child?

Both my fiance and I love kids, but we both only want one.. We just don't see ourselves having more than one. Is there anyone else here that feels the same way? I mean, I feel like maybe years down the line after this one, I may want another. But then another part of me is like, NO WAY. Idk, Maybe I just want a small family. Is this selfish at all?

    No, many people only want one. Who knows, maybe after ur first you'll love being a mommy and want another.

    That's not selfish. It's reasonable. My fiance is the only child and he wanted another sinbling, but money wise, his parents weren't completely okay for another one.

    I only want one. I don't think there's anything wrong about wanting one child. I've had relatives say, "No, you need to have at least two so your child won't be spoiled." Um, what if I don't want to be pregnant again? I don't think being a single child makes them spoiled or lonely. Just teach them to share and socialize them with other kids.

    Its not selfish my husband and I thought we were going to only have one but second this is our number two and our last .... gauge is a little spoiled bc we weren't expecting a second .... I am thankful for both of my babies it took us a long time

    @ExcitedForOctober We've talked about possibly having another, but it would be years down the line. Right now it's still a single child family lol.

    @navywife I'm considering getting that Mirena thing after I have this, but I would never regret a child if I ever got pregnant again. If I'm meant to have more than 1, than God has a plan for it.

    I only want one but my fiancee wants two lol, but i guess we'll just see how i feel after this baby comes if we do have another then i said it'll be within 5 years of this one 7 at a push IF we are in a financial and emotional position to do so it ain't selfish at all x

    thats what I said too but 4 1/2 years later my baby asked for a sibling and here I am pregnant again but this is it for me now they will have eachother.

    @VictoriaB I know my child will be spoiled, by us some, but mostly by his parents. It will be their first grandchild. But a lot of people think im crazy for only wanting 1.

    I don't think it is selfish! If you both think that's best dir your family, then that's what you should do....

    @navywife It's not that we couldn't afford to have more than one, I think we would just be content with having one. Both (BD & I) think babies aren't as "expensive" as some people would put it. Maybe we'll learn when our lil one gets here. Lol.
