Not really pregnancy related, but family related.

I was just wondering how many of you are 1 car families? My husband and I are expecting our first baby in September. We have 3 vehicles, 2 cars and a truck. My husband is supposed to be selling the truck, but hasn't done it yet, and I am thinking of selling my car. We pay WAY to much for insurance and with the price of gas, forget it!!! We are both students and work full-time, and with a new baby on the way money is tight. We boh work at the same place and we live about 3 miles from our work, also we go to school together, so there is no reason to have 2 (or 3) cars! I am just trying to convince my hubby of that! Any of you go through this and how does it work out for you?

  • We work together also and have my mama van, his honda and his truck...and our hours just got cut this week so im worried...we take 2 cars to work incase i want to go home early.
  • Yeah I would get rid of at least a vehicle. We only had one at the beginning but due to us working different shifts at work we.were forced to get.another.
  • Well we work the same shift, but not always the same days. But with us only living 3 miles from work, it is not to bad to drop one of us off.....I don't know. I think it is a good idea, but I also my parents are close and would come get me anytime, so I am not stuck at home....
  • I would sell the vehicle that costs the most to maintain. My husband & I share a vehicle & it's the biggest pain in the ass. It limits what you can do, where you can go, how much time you spend somewhere etc. Even though you have people close by that will help you, you will get tired of relying on other people especially when you just wanna get out & go.
