big baby

edited May 2011 in Pregnant
I was told at my 26 week ultrasound that he's 2 an a half pounds. She called him fluffy an said she hates calling babies fat. That's .82 pounds larger then he should be. I did the math an if he stops over growing an gains at a normal pace starting that day he will be about 9 pounds or so. That scares me. My first was 5#14oz second was 5#5 1/2oz. If he keeps up with the extra weight he could be like 12#s. Omg! Im getting my tubes tied anyways so maybe a c section?

Lol, babies have growth.spurts, my niece didn't grow an inch for a few months and then Bam! I wouldn't worry to much, they should watch close, they won't let you have a 12 pounder :)
  • my bd was over 11lbs when he was born. and i'm only 11 weeks and i'm already feeling lots of weight in my uterus. i have a feeling my lil persephone/damien will take after her/his daddy n be big... this is going to be my first child too, so i'm a lil worried!
  • Maybe your due date is a little off? I wouldn't sweat it yet. But if he does keep growing at the same pace I think I would talk to the dr about delivering via c-section or maybe at 38weeks.
  • @fae see 11# scares me. The father of my first two was 6#?oz an so was I. The girls were premies so they were smaller. Im not sure what lil man's daddy weighed.
@txmoorekat I had them check for signs that my due date was off cause the clinic I was going to were idiots. They said the only thing that seems off is his weight an that they're sticking with the due date. I am pretty confident in this clinic. But its still possible. Im thinking given the choice I'll go with the c section either way since they are gonna tie me then its just one motion. I have cervical cancer so the less aggressiveness to that the better. Maybe I can get them to do that procedure then as well since ill already be pain killered up lol.
