RH-Negative blood type?

Is anyone else RH-Negative? And if so, did your doctors show concern?

  • Mine didn't because I didn't have any anti bodies so I'm getting my shot at 28 weeks and I haven't bled since I got preggo my friend did and she had antibodies and bled and lost all of her babies
  • Wow yea, this is my first. I'm going to doctors today. I saw on my medical website that I was rh- and read all about it, so I'm sure they will talk to me about it today. I don't know if they found anti bodies but I have not bled at all.
  • I am. I had some bleeding at the beginning of my pregnancy, so I was given a shot of Rhogam at the time of the bleeding, then another at 28wks. The shot will protect your baby from your body, since your body may see the baby as a foriegn object. Your dr will run blood tests and decide where to go with the situation. So I wouldnt worry, everything will be fine. This is my first pregnancy and so far I am 30wks 6days.
  • Im RH- no bleeding at all doctor jus said ill have to get tha shot at 7 months

  • Got it, thanks ladies. Yea, our doctor didn't seem concerned. Were having my husband tested and if he is also negative, then I don't need the shots. Did anyone test your babys father?
  • if ur bd has negative blood too then u don't have anything to worry about or even need to shot
  • I knew husbands blood type before just so happened our son ended up w his not mine. Shots for me
  • When they round out i bad negative rh blood they Gabby me the shot right away and i will get another at 28 wks
  • A lot of people of Rh- blood, very normal and nothing to worry about. I got the shot at 12 weeks because I was bleeding, will get it again at 28 weeks and at delivery, I think. We don't know what type my Hubby is. He went to his doctor to get it checked and they told him they don't do it at their clinic, so I'll just keep getting the shots.
  • I'm Rh neg had bleeding early on but still didn't have the shot til 25 weeks. Gotta have another one after the babys born but its all good. Shot makes your arm a little numb though.
  • I am rh-negative and this is my 2nd pregnancy. Unfortunately, I became sensitized and began producing antibodies (antigen M, to be exact) with my first baby, before I even was able to receive the rhogam shot. Dr. was very shocked and referred me to a blood specialist, said it had never happened in his 10 years plus practicing. Simply because I had never been pregnant before, nor miscarriage or abortion and never had a blood transfusion. I was told that it's very rare, but some women's bodies will begin producing antibodies on its own, without anything to trigger it.

Was monitored throughout pregnancy and I didn't produce much, less than 1. And my baby boy was born very healthy. However, of course, now I do have concerns with my current pregnancy now, especially because the shot is useless for me :-(
  • I'm a- and my hubby is o+ so I get shot after every pregnancy and again at 28 weeks. As long as you are not bleeding and they check for antibodies its no big deal.
  • Yes o get the shot next week
