app says week 6 dr said 5 weeks

I was going by this app to tell me how far long I was and it says 6 weeks but I went to the doctor on Friday and she said I'm only 5 weeks has this happened to anyone else

Oh okay cuz I thought I was a lil further along so I was hoping to hear a heartbeat but its too soon just a lil long...uggghhh

I have a ? There are some people talking about they are lets say 15 weeks but the babies only 14 weeks so how far along should they tell people they are. I dont get that at all. My doctor tells me im 35 weeks thats what I go by where do they get how far along the babies progress is?

They refering to the last day of your period. Thats how people get confused I did. Cause I 10 weeks as of tomorrow just go to your due date they give u which is 40 weeks and count the weeks and that will tell you how many you are.
