How do i tell my husband i dont want his mother to stay with us after our 2 nd ba y is born??? I hav never met a more selfish grownup in my life....she uses coming to see her grandson from out of state as an excuse...she pushes my 2yr old son away when he tries to play with her....she was here not too long ago and she was holding his hand too tight so he bit her(which i never condo e) she tuned and slapped him in tbe face.....needless to say i went psycho mama on her....my husband and i both told her that is not how we zdisciplin....she never apologized...she left talking about how she wants to come back in 2 months when our second baby (a girl) is born. I dont know how to tell my husband that i do not want her around my kids especially after the baby when my hormones will b raging.

  • Just tell him. He needs to know and you shouldn't have to deal with her then or ever. Sorry, but I would just be upfront about it and not feel bad one little bit.
  • That's such atough one......I'm going through the same situation with my evil MIL! My husband just says "that's just how she is" I swear its a no win situation..........they need to learn they are grandmas not mommys, daddys, or discipliners........good luck!
  • I feel for ya! I hate ALL my inlaws and my fiance knows it. He is usually understanding when it comes to matters with them. We still argue though...
  • Ive told hiam once...i do t think he took me serious....and i dont think she took me serious either....i will fight for my children..you hurt my child i will hurt you. I do not like punishment out of anger and that is just wht she did...i totally regret no smacking her in the face and asking her how she liked it...lol i know viole ce is never the answer. but slapping a 2 yr old in the face or any child for that matter is a no-no in my eyes. do not get me wrong i spank....but slapping no! im just gonna have to tell my hubby i was serious. and hopefully he doesnt get his feelings hurt. :(
  • I feel for you too! I also HATE all my inlaws they are the rudest most stuck up people I have ever met! my mil always gives us "advice" and it always starts with " I'm not trying to tell you what to do but when my kids were babys I did it this way" its so annoying
  • i understand that! I really dislike my MIL and her husband. They're nasty, selfish ppl who only care about themselves. My MIL got all her children taken away from her bc she had an affair with a child molester, and she tries to give me advice on how to take care of my children!!?? Um, no? She makes everything about her and a sob story on how she gets crapped on by everyone around her. She doesnt comprehend that these things wouldnt happen if she didnt keep putting herself into situations that hurt everyone else. and I have made sure my husband knows how i feel about it all. he understands. i still let her come around due to the only fact of her being his mother but i cant tolerate the woman!!
  • The best thing you can do is tell your husband you won't be ready for her to come right when the baby is born and then suggest an alternative time she can come. My husband and I used to argue about his parents all the time because they DO NOT get along with me at all. Luckily, over the last few years he's been able to see things more from my side, so they aren't so much of an issue anymore, but when I had my daughter, they insisted that they would be at the hosputal waiting for her to be born and I had to put my foot down. I can't deal with these people at my best, let alone after giving birth.
  • Just tell him and do not hold back about how you feel. It took me a while to be upfront with my husband about how uncomfortable I was with his parents, but it was the best thing I could have done. He has since come to realize how destructive those people really are, and I no longer have to worry about how to handle awkward interactions and the fake "hellos". I'm not saying that your husband will do the same but he will have to respect your wishes as his wife and mother of his kids. It will do wonders for you as well. It takes a big toll on a person when they feel they have to put up with disrespect, in order to spare someone else's feelings....Not I....Never again!!!
  • Wow I really don't blame you for not wanting her to be there. Who hits someone elses kid? I would have freaked out on her!
  • thanka ladies i will have to b more forceful when i tell him.@laura536 u are right if i cant stand them at my best they sure as hell dont want to mess with me at my worst! hahahaha! @ onemoreontheway i was in shock at first that she did it...then i looked at her and pointes at her and said "I do not like that and i am very very unhappy witb you." Had i been able to think straight i prob would have popped her...thats how furious it makes me. then asked her how she liked it. maybe its just my hormones but i am just very very protective when it comes to my loved ones. Thanks ladies, yall r so helpful!!!!
  • I agree 100% about not slapping a child in the face. I have seen my sil do it & her daughters mouth started bleeding. I couldn't handle it I glared @ her & left & as I was leaving my mil said to me ( she didn't see the glare) that john ( my hubby) was the same way u barely smack him & his nose or mouth would start bleeding. I almost flipped out. I told her I do not like slapping a child in the face or mouth that my son will not b disciplined that way by anyone. U would think the sight of blood that u caused from ur child would make u not do that. Yeah I do spank but never on anger. This post just bothered me so much cuz I am very against it & my son is 2 & o don't know what I would do if my mil did that to him. She would not b in my house for a very very long time if ever.
