welcome baby vs baby shower

This is my third baby and my first girl.. for my two boys I had baby showers and I'm kinda over them. So this time around id rather have a welcome baby so everyone can meet her but in august Id rather not be roaming around sorting thru gifts.. I also don't know if my in laws with throw a suprise shower but I really would prefer a welcome baby.. (kinda repeated myself there).. I've never known anyone to do a welcome baby so I don't really know to expect..

i think its a fun idea, just like a bbq type thing and invite friends over. some people don't want to have the baby around that many peple though because of germs and what not.
I'm also due in August so i probably wont be having anything until late september.

I'm thinking of doing both. This is my first and hopefully last baby, so I think a shower and a welcoming party would be fun! I also did a gender reveal party this last weekend, but it kind of turned into a disaster. Only 2 of the people I invited showed up!

Regarding germs, I'm gonna carry a packet of hand sanitizer wipes in my pocket at all times!

I think this sounds like a fabulous idea. I might consider a welcome baby day too now that you mentioned it.

That's my plan as well. I moved 300mi away from friends and family. My kids and I are going "home" with the baby while I'm on maternity leave. Just make ur guests sanitize first.

I had a welcome home party for my second. Mostly becuz they were so close in age that I still had everything I needed so there was no point for a shower. But it was alot of fun to have every meet him. But yes make sure everyone santi. and have the baby in a blanket so it's not directly on someones clothes or skin.
