antsy but waiting....

edited February 2011 in Pregnant
I'm totally excited about my bf and I having a baby, and I really want to start shopping, but something inside me keeps telling me to wait until we know what we are having. I honestly don't know how I have kept myself from buying anything, but I have. Does anyone else relate to this??? I can't wait to start shopping though!!! Def. have been looking online!!!! Any suggestions on best websites?? or best deals???

  • Etsy.com has tons of baby stuff. I love that site.
  • I'm the same way. I already want to but things but I'm definitely gonna wait til I know what I'm having. Although I'm buying a crib this weekend cuz I saw that kmart has one on sale for $99.
  • It is great to shop around and find the best prices at places now......and possibly pick up a pack of diapers wipes, baby wash and baby lotion, I picked up some plain white onesies.....I. am excited and want to shop but I too want to know what I am having first so I fix my shopping craves by picking things up that work for both girl and boy......you will never have tooo many diapers and wipes......pick up different sizes and get a head start......:)
  • thanks for the site!! i also thought about starting to buy the necessities now to get a headstart, just haven't started yet. i think im waiting to buy the first "fun" item then start stocking up on necessities!!
  • here's a couple of things I wished I knew when I first had my son. Gerber onesies (and all their clothes in general) run small so buy bigger sizes. Your baby will outgrown newborn and size 3 months really quickly, if you want the most for your money stick with sleepers for the first couple of months. Baby booties never stay on baby's feet, but there are some really good brands out there and you'll find them if you do your research. Huggies work best for boys and pampers for girls. Don't invest too much money in breastfeeding supplies until you know that its working for you. I had tons of breastfeeding stuff only to find that I would never produce enough milk for my son and then have it dry up after a month of struggling with it. Also, generic formula works just as good as the brand name stuff (if you decide to formula feed). Best of luck with your little one.
  • I hear ya I have my twenty week ultrasound on vday can't wait to shop
