Super bummed tmi

I went to the dr today and it turns out thus bump I have on my stomache that I thought was a pimple is a boil. Why are they barley telling me that? And apearntly I cant take bectrum or whatever its called in my 3rd trimester. She didnt really want to get into details and I know I should have asked for more info but I didnt and now im so worried. The only thing she said was that at the hospital when your in labor they swab you for some infectiom (starts with an m sorry I forgot it) and if it comes out positive things get complicated. Has anyone had this problem and will it effect my baby? Im just n a fml mood I hope its nothing to bad or serious :(

    The m word is probably MRSA, methacylin resistant staph aureus, excuse the spelling. What it is is a super bug. Can b in a wound, urine, lungs, blood etc. Really hard to treat cause overtime we have made bugs that are smarter than our drugs by overprescribing them and people not fiishing them before the bug is totally dead. Usually has to be treated with 6 weeks of IV antibiotics.

    O wow thats scary, thanks for the info...so just because I have a boil does that necessarly mean I have that or is it only if it gets infected? I kno I should have gotten as much info as I could and I will be sure to ask at my nxt appt its just gonna b stressing me out n the mean time....and yes thats what I was refering to thanks

    My son (6yrs old) had mrsa about 2 yrs ago. Sad part is you can catch it anywhere. He was put on oral meds and was on them for close to 8wks. It actually got to the point where he had to take a special medicated bath. But if they think you have MRSA. They can test You by a simple nose swab. If they were worried they would have tested You.
