flutters/first kick for moms

edited May 2011 in Pregnant
So I'm 17 weeks pregnant and the doctors keep asking me when I go in if I have felt my baby yet Nd I said no. Either I don't know what I'm waiting to feel for or just still can feel the baby. Should I be worried or will it come. When did u alll feel ur baby for the first time?

  • With your first pregnancy you may not feel anything until late into your second trimester. There is just alot of room in there for the baby to move around so you don't really feel any thing unless they kick really hard. I am 22 weeks and started feeling little flutters, almost like gas pains at 19 weeks. Now i feel him move all the time.

  • I felt mine at middle of 15 weeks, realy light flutters though, My Midwive had the doplar on My tummy and I could hear as well as feel baby moving. Its different for everyone and Ull feel it when baby is ready to kick and wiggle!
  • It doesnt feel like I thought it would. When I finally realized it was the baby I realized I have been feeling it for a couple of weeks. To me it really feels like gas pressure or how your lower stomach feels before a really big bowel movement. It will just hit you one day and you will know that its the baby. Its crazy & amazing.
  • I felt my baby when I was about 17 weeks and this is my first. Trust me, you'll know when you start feeling movement!!
  • I felt my baby at about 15/16 weeks, I'm two days away from being 19. The movements are getting stronger but like others said it felt like fluttering and preasure on my lower stomach. Some times I go a day or two without feeling anything because of where the baby might be positioned. You could be feeling yours and not know it or your baby could be hiding like mine does.
  • Thanks guys that makes me feel better and yea this is my first I'm hoping for a girl only like 18 days to go till I find out
  • I am a 3rd time mom and I didn't really feel him as early as I shouldve because my placenta is anteriorly placed
