breast feeding... bottle feeding?

edited May 2011 in Pregnant
sorry if tmi... I have one inverted nipple. With my first daughter I was trying to breast feed... but she wouldn't latch ln to the inverted. I've been thinking of pumping and bottle feeding my milk through a bottle and using formula as a mix. What are your opinions and does any one else have to deal with an inverted nipple?

  • I have one flat nipple and my son refused to nurse off it. So I've done a little research and they have nipple shields that u can wear around before baby is due to try and pull the nipple out...you can try looking into that.
  • Nipple shields don't work. My sister has inverted nipple as well my niece is two weeks and can not latch because her nipples are so flat...she pumps and bottle feeds her that way the baby is still getting the best nutrition

  • I know where they latch but yea all three of my sisters nipples are inverted and they wore they shield for a very long time and it didn't work! I'm just telling her that if baby doesnt latch then she should definitely pump so her baby still gets her milk !

  • My bff's had to use the nipple shield because of her nipples. But she also pumped to because she had to go back to work........ I plan on pumping n using formula
