hb using fetal doppler @ 9 weeks ***pls enlighten me***

Well , am 9 weeks by lmp which is about 7 weeks by conception ..and am trying to find my babys heartbeat using fetal doppler from bellybeats which is the same doppler doctors use in their offices ...but am so confused coz its registering e heartrate of 80's on the monitor .I wanna freak out already coz that's low ...but am I hearing MY heartbeat instead ? Am I really just 7 weeks ? Coz this doppler is supposed to pick up hb @ 8 to 10 weeks ...and before I freaked out I hope someone enlighten me ..do these dopplers refer to the weeks by lmp or gestation ? Irregardless , is this something I need to worry ?or is this common not to find heartbeat right away ? Coz am really on the verge of freaking out

I don't think they can pick it up that soon, I went into the doctors at 13 weeks and she still couldn't find it, but I had an u/s so I know its there beating at 171. If its in the 80's I would say your picking up your own
