Pregnancy with toddler

edited January 2011 in Parenting
My husband and I are planning our second baby but we have a very active toddler who can be very very testing at times. I am concerned about how I will cope with my son while pregnant. Anyone been though this before?

  • Allylou77, You will be fine I on my fourth child I have a 5,3,2 year old. It crazy but fun at the same time..
  • I have a very active 3.5 year old. She never sits and refuses naps. I have a 6 month old also. The toddlers cant hurt the baby while in the womb. My daughters throw remotes at me and"boomed" my tummy but we explained with pictures what mommy has in her tummy. Eventually she calmed down when my 2nd daughter was birn. She curved her energy from.running around getting in trouble to trying to help with the baby. Now we are expecting our 3rd. Toddlers def speed up the 9 month baking process, and keep you exercised!
  • So just njoy my growing family and everything will work out just fine. Good advice, tbc.
  • Thanks! I should just go with the flow. I will survive with anything that is thrown at me (literally!).
  • Its a little crazy. Im on my third and both my kids are non stop! I just tried to keep my son involved as much as possible. Got new baby sister books for him and I think the more he understood the more he was exited and it was easter to get him to stop or start certain habits. Start now with things that might change also. Earlier bed time. Being able to carry him less. Etc. then its already a habit. Before its an issue.
  • You will manage somehow and it takes some getting used to balancing it all. I can't even remember how now since it's been awhile. Good luck.
