We're taking a 4 day camping trip....no camper; tent on the ground! We have a nice air mattress, but can u ladies think of anything else to keep me sane??? Battery operated fan, water mister, and I've got to find a mosquito repellant without Deet.

  • Keep Your self hydrated and also sun screen.
  • I think Avon has a non deet bug repellant atleast they used to and it works fairly well. Also skip on hair products (spray, gel, ect.) And any perfumes it attracts all types of bugs. Eat alot of garlic for a week before the trip, you sweat it out and keeps the mosquitos away. Someone I know swears by hanging fresh garlic bulbs around the site and in the tent for the bugs but I never tried it.

Dress lightly but always wear hiking boots with thick socks. The boots to keep from sprained ankles (and possible snake bites), the socks from blisters. Change your socks often to avoid swamp foot.

Keep all food out of the tent, animals can smell even the tiniest crumb. Use a bear bag for your food if possible.

There is more but it is mostly for camping along trails or where there is no, or very little civilization and can get a bit tmi. :) if you want it ask.

    Have fun!! :)
