It can possibly make the baby have a bowel movement in utero. But unless the baby is ready to come, what will most likely happen, is you will be completely miserable. Babies come when they want too.
If you talk to a doc, they will tell you no to do it. You will poo like crazy and may not even go into labor, however, you run the risk of dehydrating yourself. Good luck!
yeah, my midwives told me it may or may not induce labor, but will definitely give you extreme diarrhea! so a big no-no for me, since i am hoping for a waterbirth (sorry if TMI)
@PrettyKiki I would recommend sex. Semen can help thin & dilate a ripe cervix and orgasms mimic contractions. It's safe & fun, although slightly awkward with a large tummy. Good luck!
I was so going to try drinking a shot of oil today but i got scared lol..so i am just trying to have sex as much as i can i am already 2 cm dilated they also say if they cum inside you it helps soften the cervix
I used castor oil for my last birth. I was 11 days late though and they were going to induce me with pitocin in the next day or two. I hated my pitocin birth with my first. So needless to say I was desperate. It gave me the worst gas pain I've ever had. I literally woke up moaning and ran/squirmed to the bathroom. It did start contractions though. I had my daughter 12 hrs after I drank it (8 hrs of labor). We had been trying sex and walking and evening primrose oil for about 2 wks already. So it was the last resort.
