Ultrasound tomorrow, placenta previa?

edited May 2011 in Third Trimester
Going in at 10:00 a.m. Been a long 10 weeks of waiting since the last U/S! I am praying for my home birth, praying my placenta has moved up and out of the way, praying that my boy is healthy, so so scared of having c/s. I know I won't sleep well tonight (partly thanks to my UTI). Hsbd is going away for the wknd shortly after the appt, so I am hoping for the best news possible. Any happy thoughts and kind words are appreciated! U ladies feel like family sometimes!

  • Good luck! I just wanted to let u know at 19 weeks I was told I had complete placenta previa, I had another ultrasound 2 weeks later (because they couldnt get all the needed mesurements at the previous one) that showed my placenta previa had completely cleared up! So there is def hope! I was told prettu much that cpp rarley ever "moves" enough, and that I was going to have a c secton, but they were wrong thankfully :) good luck, I bet urs will be fine too

  • So we got mixed news today. My placenta has moved out of the way, it is 18mm from my cervix. The cut-off for previa is 20mm, so he said I'd be fine to deliver vaginally. YEAH! But, the trade-off is that I will need to be in the hospital in case of bleeding during delivery. We have been planning a home birth. So we have one more u/s at 36 wks to determine placenta position and baby's position. More waiting! AHHH! It's a releif that we won't have c-section but I can't plan ahead for a home birth. Guess I will plan for both places and thank goodness I won't be cut open!
    @Summergirl22 & @lil_buggie_3 thanks for your support!

  • With my first I had complete placenta previa. It showed at u.s. at6 wks. Still there at 28 wks. And then again at u.s. at 32,34,36 and finally moved at the 37 wk (also determining ultra sound) u.s. I went into labor 6 days later! It can happen!
  • Thats good news, it still could "move" more, I mean your only going to get bigger which is what helps it "move". So dont get discouraged about ur home birth just yet! Theres still time for further improvement, its one step in the right direction (: so happy for you, good luck, dont give up hope :)
  • @survivormommie3 you had shared your story with me back in Feb when I first posted the news of my placenta, thanks for sharing, it gave me so much hope. I was so disappointed after the ultrasound but now after a couple of days of thought, I am happy with the news and I know there is a great possibility that everything will go the way I want. If not, I still have a beautiful healthy baby boy cooking in there! He has at least 3 lbs to gain so everything will continue to stretch in the right direction.
