Mother-in-law!!

My mother-in-law is driving me insane! I understand this is her first grandbaby but she is trying to control everything from what we name him to the clothes we dress him in & I haven't even have birth yet. I'm due May 6th. She gets mad at me if I don't bring her to all my doc appts & doesn't want us to put him in day care or a babysitter. She said she's going to have him when we don't no matter what & neither me or my husband like what shes planning. What do I do? How do I tell her this is mine & my husbands baby & not hers without upsetting her even more?? HELP!!

Its a mother-in-law thing. Mine is def involved and wayyy overly excited! She quit her job and is now having problems finding a new one so I know when this baby comes this weekend she's going to want to be around 24/7. I'm going through the same thing on how do I tell her this is my time to shine and do it my way cause she's already lived this experiance. She's def thrown in a lot of her imput and makes me fell yucky if I don't use it! I wish you luck girl! We both seem to be in a rut! Lol

People like that u cant tell them nicely..i tried with my mother in law in this is my 3rd pregnancy...finally last week i blow up cuz were havin a boy finally cuz i have two girls anyways she told me im gonna get this n that n he gots to.wear this n that..then she said ur gonna name it after his father n i said yea she said oh no pls cuz thats also her wx husbands name...so she tells my bf can we name it somethong else he.said yea...so i told her ill name it what i want n dress him how i want ur not runnin nothin around here cuz ur livin in my house ...will it worked she hasnt .said nothing to me about the baby or tried dressing my girl for school which is n the 1st grade..my daughter told me today...thanks mom cuz she dresses me dorky n my friends laugh...i feel so good now like im free..

Well my mother in law is just as much of a nut case just opposite....this is her first grandchild and when we told her I was expecting her response was "txt me with the details when its born". WE LIVE A HOUR A WAY!!!!!! this may sound really harsh since you guys don't know all this woman has put me through but ill be glad when she kicks rocks.

Sadly I've tried the sweet polite way. She just smiles and says she knows best. She didn't really even raise my husband. His aunt did. His mom didn't want him and apparently had postpartum depression & his younger sister is a spoiled brat. Doesn't really inspire me to go to her for parenting advice.

I have a feeling I'm will blow up soon. I've already blown up at my husband cuz he just kept saying just let her talk but he doesn't have to hear it! He's finally starting to tel her to stop & sadly its still not helping. I think a blow up is going to be the only way to get thru to her.

I feel you on the mother-in-law drama except mine is a competition because my mother-in-law is also pregnant and due 2 weeks before me. So she has to constantly one up me on everything for the baby. But just to clarify she's my step mother-in-law my real one passed last year

I agree with the others; if nice hasn't worked, get tough NOW- before the baby's born... otherwise you'll regret it! Trust me, mine was a nightmare & I played nice for 6 years of misery & then last Christmas she went too far & I lost it!...
Long story short, this past year has been the most peaceful of my marriage & I'm delighted that this baby won't be influenced by her negativity! I'm glad that my husbands finally starting to see what a nutjob she is on his own, too... thank Heavens!

Ke1010-that's why I've been trying to be nice but even my father-in-law has ben telling her shes going too far. My hubby even asked why I haven't blown up yet.

Junebbyboy-that's gotta be tough. My hubbys cousin is preg too & shes due about a month after me and trys to one up me every chance she gets.

Vette_devil-my hubby has always known his mom is nuts. Thank god. Lol. He just doesn't like to deal with her drama so he leaves it to me.
