Awwww! That's so cute. Take him to training someplace. PetSmart offers classes. Are you crating him? It's good to do that especially when they're little. Helps form good habits. Please don't make him sleep outside, by the way. That's not nice and he's now a member if the family who will want to be with you. Get a few books, and one on that particular breed and take your time with the dog. There will be accidents but don't get mad and don't rub his nose in it cuz he won't understand. Also, don't ever give up. Patience and a lot of love really pay off. You won't regret it! By the way, what's the pup's name? (I'm so excited about your dog!)
  • I would deff crate train I have my service dog that I got to train myself with help of my friend who trains service animals for a living. Labs r the best family dogs they really r they r loving loyal n learn very quickly! Positive reinforcement has always been best for me dogs will do anything u ask of a treat they don't do wat u want no treat till they do.... prolly wasn't the best time but once u get it crate trained n obedient u won't regret ur choice :) I have a one yr old lab my service dog an a six yr old lab newfoundland mix two of the three best dogs I have ever had! N they r great at helping u watch the kids! Lol
  • petsmart clicker training is very helpful as well I did that with one of my other dogs that passed :( worked wonders n that's how a lot of the service trainers train

  • His name is redgie, and very cute, im just starting to worrie what I got my self into. Im not sure what crate training is, im in australia, but I plan to take him to puppy school asap. What I mean by outside also is, like through the day when I have to go out and my husband is at work, I dont want him to be a barker, im sure my neibours all ready hate me (because my husbands dickhead friends) and also when he is older to be an outside dog (sometimes in)
  • Get a large dog kennel an indoor one like the ones u would use to transport them in the car n start having him sleep in that n stay in there while ur out n about he will bark at first but will get use to it give him his own blanket n a toy n just leave n when ur home leave the door to the kennel open so he knows its a safe place n not a punishment after awhile it will be a routine for him n so much easier on u plus less puppy potty messes they hate going where they sleep :) I'm so jealous ur in Australia!!! I have always wanted to go there!
  • N if barking is a problem use a spray bottle with water n spray him when he barks when u don't want him to just like u would a cat to keep it off the counter but it must be in their face area or they tend to enjoy it sometimes lol
  • I was hopeing to set up 'his place' in my backyard in our shed (you could even call it a grannyflat) and sitdown out there with him through the day untill he likes it and will sit out there comftabuly by himself (so I can go out without him) and when he is used to it and older that will be his bedroom. Austraila is nice, but im in canberra, australia capital terrtory. Its small and there is not much to do, no beach, just bush and kangeroos, and cooold at the moment and its not even winter yet!!!
  • My baby daddy got me a puppy for mothers day! I was so mad! I can't train a dog! I don't have the patience! She craps every where! She been out on the balcony for four days in the hot sun! She's a rockwhiler mixed with chow. It's raining now and I'm so mad he brought her in. I hate dogs that aren't trained
  • That would still be so cool to visit! My friend moved there for two yrs with her fan n loved it but she was in Sydney. That would work it would just be a giant kennel lol make sure there is nothing he can chew up Sept toys n food n a roof or shade is a must as well as some blanket or insolated bed so he can keep warm n u should be good to go :) its pretty cold here right now too I'm in Oregon but yesterday was nice!
  • @mommiemcatee if u don't want it take it to the shelter it shouldn't have to be roasting in the heat or stuck out in the rain chows don't do well with heat n if u don't want it I'm sure there is a family that would love it. its tough to have a new pup n really young children or being pregnant its like having another kid. if u do want to keep it like a said kennel/crate train it it will make everything so much easier n less accidents
  • sorry I'm a huge huge dog lover ... I would take the pup off ur hands if I could...
  • Nah there is only motobikes in there he cant chew them, I would also put a kennel in there and then a dog bed in that with blankets and whatnot. Yep from canberra sydney in about a 3hour drive, not very far. I have no idea about oregon, I have heard of it before but I dont no where in america it is, or whats there or anything.
  • My mom use to put food out a couple times a day n then put it up when the puppy eats and then right after takes it outside to do its business just a tip
  • @Aidensmummy that sound wonderful!!!! Oregon is amazing! So pretty n green its on the west coast of America nw area I have gone a lot of places but Oregon is by far my favorite its just so beautiful!

@mommy2bof_1 its a good idea it takes them about thirty min to digest whatever they eat or drink then by golly its potty time!
  • I don't want anything to do with the winey mut. I told him to take her back wherever he got her from. He said someone wanted to buy her. But she's still here! I don't want her here and he should take her wherever. I had a puppy to run away in december her name was Roxanne. I loved her. She was semi trained. But I saw her splatterd on the road and I refuse to love another animal
  • @mommie_mcatee I can understand that... why don't u put an add online urself or in the paper that way something will get done or put it in the car when he is gone n take it in to a shelter or humane society... its really the best thing to do the sooner the better
