taking a pregly leave of absence to care for my husband :'(

Hey Preglys! Few weeks ago, my hubby was in an accident at work. As a result, he suffered a spinal cord injury and paralysis. I'm now caring for him full time since he's been released from the hospital. Just wanted to wish you all happy pregnancies. Special love to my October mommies ;-)

  • Is his paralysis permanant? I'm soo sorry this happened to him. Maybe insurance can cover a nurse to help you out. I'm praying for patience & healing for your family! God bless you all.
  • Oh no! I'm sending prayers your way as you care for your family. If you need any support, please pop back on and let us send you some love. Best of luck with everything hun!
  • @one5one yes, its "permanent." I put quotes because I'm hopeful. May be years, but I'm hopeful nonetheless. We have a home health aid set up to come out and help in the mornings, but Im a nurse and I feel I can offer him the best care. Maybe later when the baby is born I will ask for another nurse. I will definitely need her then!
  • Wow....I'll keep your family in my prayers.
  • I totally understand the quotes. With great therapy hopefully maybe he'll get some movement & feeling back. Its great you're a nurse too. Keep the aides on their toes! Lol. I've taken care of my gram after her strokes. I know its very stressful to be a caretaker even with a family member. Please don't feel the need to take on the world so to speak. If you're stressed ask for help or a break if you need it. %%-

  • Is it his whole body or just legs? Or what
  • @natandfer1993 the injury is in his lumbar spine, which is in the lower back. So its paraplegia (legs/ waist) in my opinion he's doin awesome today :) he has managed to move around using upper body strength. He's so cute :X
  • About 2 years ago my dad was ran over by a train and lost his leg and I thought it was the end of the world I'm only 18 I was 16 at the time and I was devastated but he didn't let it keep him down he is more strong minded now then ever the point is ever body has obstacles we just have to find away around them and u and ur family will in time good luck and stay positive
  • Im sorry this happened to your husband... pray alot to Jehova to give u strength and I will for your family as well! Much love!
  • Idk how into vitamins you are but I have a bunch and tomorrow I will look into stuff to help ur husband. My grandpa had stage 4 bone and ptostate cancer and is now cancer free bc of one vitamin drink. Ill see if there is anything for helping repair nerve/ spinal injuriea
