To Work OR Not To Work

edited May 2011 in Pregnant
I had an interview at Goodwill & it went great. I'm 33 weeks on my way to the interview I received my UI determination which said I would make $115 a week for 16 weeks or I could work full-time at goodwill making $7.50. My last job fired me at 31 weeks and I need to move so that was a huge roadblock so should I work or receive unemployment?

  • Maybe unemployment for awhile. $7.50 isn't that much and you can collect and rest for awhile. Just my thought.

  • Well my & my hubby were gonna only do about 3 weeks of maternity leave. Then our schedules would be arranged he works mornings I work nights.
  • Unemployment goes up until 99 weeks they have extentions after the first half.
  • They only said I'm eligible for 16 & $115 a week what is that gonna do
  • There is probably an amount of hours you can work without being taken off of unemployment, so you can work to supplemnet the unemployment and then when you have the baby you will still get something
  • And have you gotten the job at goodwill?? They have a bad rep (at least in my area) for not hiring pregnant women!
  • Really? I don't know they seemed very nice & desperate
