Anyone else have this? (Long)

I've been seeing a high-risk specialist since 12 weeks bc my reg OB wanted me to have a detailed ultrasound d/t the fact my first pregnancy my water broke at 34w 6d. Its a good thing bc they found 2 very large placental lakes that covered the whole surface of the placenta. (sm ones r perfectly normal and common) That started ultrasounds every 2 weeks to measure them and keep an eye on signs for preterm. Around 20 wks I had to go t ok the ER for contractions that started during my bowling league, no more bowling for me and I was restricted to 8 hr shifts maximum at work. (I'm a nurse so being mandated for 12-16 hr shifts was very common, and working at the jail already somewhat stressful.) My cervix also shortened some but it was very minimal, so just another thing to watch. Now at last 2 wk ultrasound, they found 2 masses on the placenta. My specialist said in her 33 years or practicing medicine she has never seen anything like these fluid filled cystic tumors and will have to do some homework. Kind of freaking me out! Seems like the specialist would know, who by the way I love and seems to be on top of her game. Anyone heard of or have something similar?

  • My friend funny same issues! She even had weird bubbles in cord they found after delivery. She still dunno what they were. Docs couldn't find exact diagnosis. She had a baby boy both times and same issues. Seems like miscarriage is with girls. It's odd like mystery diagnosis. Being in medical I've seen crazy stuff but when she showed me an ultrasound pic of bubbles on placenta and cracks I was dumbfounded. Docs didn't know to b scared or shake there heads
  • Weird. I almost miscarried my daughter at 12 weeks. But this one is a boy. My dr. is dumbfounded bc we know they are new bc of the detailed ultrasounds I was having every 2 weeks already. Do you have any idea if they had a name for what your friend had @mommyto1soontob2 ?
