anyone else been told this? worried bout my baby!!!!

edited May 2011 in Pregnant
So I had a wreck yesterday as most of u know by now from my post yesterday. Anyhow my dr. Did an ultrasound and he told me everything looked fine BUT he just wasn't seeing the babys stomach filled with fluid as they should be. He said he may not be seeing it and it was nothing to worry about, but my dr. ALWAYS says that to keep me from worrying. Lastyear he said he didn't see our babys hb at 8 weeks and not to worry it was probbly his machiene. So we went to another place and there was no hb and we miscarried. So im just wondering if anyone can tell me anything about babys stomach not being seen with fluid. Also I asked if there were something wrong what would that mean and he said something about the stomach could have formed int the wrong side or something! But he said he would check back on it later??? Can someone tell me wth this means??

  • @homebirthadvocate the dr. Said he saw the bladder and it was full. So I googled it and was woried it was exactley what u said but my question is if the baby couldn't swallow amnio fluid then could the bladder be full?? See y im scared bc monday I was in a wreck and was scared maybe he was swallowing fine until after the wreck and that was y his bladder was full. And not his stomach. Do u think he could have been swallowing and something during a wreck cause him not to be able to do so anymore. My husband and I had an ultrasound 3/4 d on may 4 and we witnessed him open his mouth which tells me he was opening and closing his mouth. Ik I am prob. Just overworrying! But its scary. If u have any input it would be greatly appreciated! ! Ty for ur response!!

  • Second opinion I say best bet
  • He is very active dr said that as well! I thought like u if bladder is full then he is swallowing. I have my first high risk appt tomorrow. Everything w him. Just kinda worried but what mom isn't. Dr's exact words tuesday:
" everything looks great, the only thing im not seeing is amniotic fluid in babys stomach. But I will check on it again later its not too much concern it may be just because his stomach is just empty right now."
Then he goes on to say there's babys bladder and its full..

I asked a few what if questions but it scared me and I got kinda confused. But he kept telling me it was probably no concern at all.
Then when I got home I got to thinking well how could the baby's bladder be full if he's not swallowing andthe only thing I thought it could be was bc maybe he was swallowing just fine but maybe after the wreck something went wrong and that maybe could explain y his bladder was full but not his tummy??
Idk im probably just a worry wart. Im going to ask the dr. Tomorrow for sure, but for now @homebirthadvocate do u think that could even b a possibility? I just don't know it a car wreck could cause a fetus to stop swallowing. Ty for listening bc u seem to have more knowledge on this than I do. I've googled but can't get much. I've read something about esophigal something where the stomach doesn't attach to the aorta. But it can't b that if babys bladder is full so im stumped. I remember the dr said in response to my what if question of
"What if babys stomach isn't getting amnio fluid?" What could that mean?"
And I remember he said something about tha could mean that the stomach formed on the wrong side of something....possibly the aorta, but im not sure if he said aorta or something else. So idk if u have anymore helpful info or maybe better questions I could give to my specialist tomorrow. But if so it is greatly appreciated if not thank u so much for ur help thus far bc uve made me feel better. Its people like u @homebirthadvocate that make me love this forum!! ^:)^
