SEX OFFENDERS!! on an army base?! how can this be?!?!?!?!!!

so last night some girl was talking about some text spy well i would a location app that i made my hubby put on his phone as well so we can keep tabs after his insident... anyways it also shows sex offender and stuff on it and ones right down the street and i live on an ARMY base! i though i was safe from things like that but OMG! i didnt think they would let them live on base this is nuts! and u should see off base!! my phone has big yellow puss filled ZITS all over it when u look off base and im talking right acrost the street! out of all places to feel safe u would think and army base wound b one of the top 3 but im starting to think different!!

I heatd if you get caught urinating in public you have to register as a sex offender. Maybe their crime isn't THAT bad, but who knows...the thought of a sex offender in the area is just scary.

..... im not taking the guys side.. but maybe he has is because when he was 18 he was with a 16 or 17 yr old and got her prego.. and parents reported it... or it goes on his record... this happened to my nephew .... I have one in my apt complex and there is kids here. My hubby just cleared it up for me... he can get ucmj or chapter out... but it depends what really happened.. and it had to happen in the military, not before....

I know most base housing you have to sign an affidavit (sp?) Stating your not a sex offender, but honestly it maybe something seriously petty. If its major the military typically does not let you join because of berthing and barracks issues. Most barracks you can't live in if your a sex offender....so it could be that ylour app is wrong or it is something stupid. If your concerned bring it up with housing.

You can be in the military and a spouse and be an offender. Depends on the rules. Say a girl joins meets her husband 2yrs later, they can't say she can't marry him and they can't kick her out for it... there are some on my base too. It really sucks!

Niether I nor my hubby are in the military but I grew up living accross the street from 2 sex offenders! They lived in a big highrise for mentally ill and elderly folks..and catty corner from our home was a huge park! After we found out they were sex offenders it was so scary I never wanted to play outside because at one point the one guy had tried to be all friendly with my dad(before we knew) annmd it just made me sick! Now as a mother I found out there is a women at my childs daycare that is a sex offender n her child is in my sons class and she has no job but hangs out there all the time, wtf? Can this be possible? When its not just a daycare but a community center as weel with kids from 6wks old to 18 years...not safe at all!

I live on fort hood an army base and one of my neighbors is a registered sex offender because he was caught peeing in public. I think if its something like that u can be on post but if its a serious sexual crime involving a minor you can not live on post but idk

and also i know sometimes it is a stupid offence like peeing in public or an 18 year old having sex with there 16 year old gf of like 4 years... i think offences like that is bs and they shouldnt b a registered sex offender. there are different situations. the point of the matter is there right here and im sorry i dont care what u got caught doing ur butt shouldnt be able to live on post! we are suppost to feel safe when r husbands are deployed and all i need is to look out my window and see a flasher running past!! :O thinking about that i would love that to happen would make a good story to post on pregly!! but really i shouldnt have to worry about a sex offender when im all alone sitting here. but i always go way to far into things... after looking at that app i got online n started reading the crimes and stairing at pics of offenders freaking myself out! i need to control the craziness!! lol!

@mandac10 thats just the Registered ones, you would be suprised at how many visit/live with military onpost. Fort riley had a solider rape a little girl last year. People are under the impression that because its military its "safe" to let their kids run around unsupervised. My old neighbor let her 3 yrold daughter wander our complex at 930 at night ALONE. Perverts are everywhere my son will be 6 in a few months and even now living in a subdivision w a 8ft privacy fence w locks on the gates he doesnt play alone outside unless I can see/hear him.
