ultrasound question

edited May 2011 in Pregnant
So we had our anatomy scan today....and its a boy!! But at the end I asked the tech "so everything look ok?" And all she would say is that the radiologist would look at it...that she couldn't say. Does that idndicate that something is wrong or am I reading too much into it? In my experience the will try to at least ease ur mind by saying "everything looks alright to me, but the radiologist has the final word." I don't know...last time they wouldn't tell me is when they said I had the threatened misscarriage.

  • I have no clue.my doctor does mine.I'm sorry I can't help.I hear that they "supposedly" can't tell you and that the doctors tell you.
  • I wouldn't worry about it. The techs don't know what to look for besides what theyr measuring. They have the radiologists look at it thn the dr. You should be ok they did the same for me and everything is fine
  • I think she just didn't say it right. The techs are not allowed to say anything because they are not trained like a radiologist is. I am sure everything is fine. :)
  • The only thing the u/s tech could tell me was the gender. They had to let my doctor look at the pics first.
  • Yeah, the U/S tech is not "trained" to explain what looks right and what does not. They can give you the measurements, but are not allowed to give any medical advice, due to legality reasons. I'm sure they just referred to it in a bad way. I'm sure baby is fine :D
  • At the beginning of my anatomy scan the tech said "I can not tell you any if my findings you will have to wait til Dr sees and talks to you..." she was kinda rude but I think it was cause I was 15 min late... you should be fine, they always say that...
  • Thank you all for your experiences. I know today was supposed to be a happy day but I let my fears taint it. I do feel better now. My fiance appreciates that I am in a better mood... :)
