Cats and Babys??

I'm 36 weeks pregnant and I'm getting induced February 28th. I'm concerned about bringing the baby home because I have a one year old cat who is very destructive and mean. He is only sweet on his terms and bites and scratches. Ive tried working with him, reading up on how to fix the problems but nothing has worked. I would hate to have to give him away but would in a heartbeat if he posed a threat to my baby. Any advice on what to do?

Yikes!! That's tough. There are ways to keep cat away from baby, but once it gets a little older the baby will want to touch it and I'm thinking it wont be good. Cats are unpredictable. If you are unsure at all I would think about trying to find it a home. Maybe a relative could take it for now and you can visit with the baby to see how it reacts. ?? Good luck!

@katlilly I was thinking the same thing about when she gets older. I tried asking everyone in my family and even my friends. No one wants the extra responsibility so id have to take him to a shelter I'm hoping I can figure something out in the next week. Thank you for the advice!!
