  • This is my 5th baby that I will breastfeed. Now when you nurse her try to do it before she is starving that way she is not screaming as badly. Also make sure you are relaxed because baby can sense your frustrations and add to baby being more uncooperative. If baby is falling asleep undress her down to her diaper and even do a diaper change. You want her to be a little uncomfortable so she wont doze off on you. Also there is a herbal supplement you can buy at a vitamin store or GNC called Fenugreek and it can help with increase milk production. Try different positions to latch her on. And see which one is easier for you and her. Maybe lay down on your side with her next to you or the football hold or the cradle position. If there is still problems you cancheck with the hospital for a lactation consultant or if you have WIC they usually have someone there that can help you too. Just remember that the baby has to learn how to nurse as well as you. It does take lots of patients and work. Just try not to stress and drink plenty of fluids. Find a nice calm place to feed her too. Hope I was helpful. :)
  • Is therre anything I can do for sore nipples?
  • @mamidani you can get Lansinoh and put that on your nipples and its safe enough that you don't have to wipe it off before feedings and you can use it on your lips if they get dry or chapped. But if you don't have that hand express a little milk and it on your nipples it's a natural healer.

  • Should I still take my prenatal?
  • Yup my doc told me to keep taking them if I plan on bf
  • Keep trying to pump that breast. Massage it before you pump and massage it during the pumping. You need to open up the pathways and get it flowing. Then maybe babies sucking will be strong enough to get something out.
