dr refuses to do ultrasound??

I understand that there's not a lot to see in early pregnancy (I'm in my 6th week) but my Dr refuses to do an ultrasound. I've been bleeding heavily for two days, I'm waiting to hear back on blood tests and I asked if we could do an ultrasound or try to find a heartbeat but they're refusing to even try. Then I read on here about all of you who have gotten them done. Should I go to the ER to get one done since I'm bleeding? I just feel like they will give us an immediate answer rather than waiting for days to hear on blood tests. Thoughts?

I would tears crazy that they wouldn't even try. I know they say its hard to find a heart beat that early but you would think they would try

Poor thing! They did the same to my cousin; it was because too many intrusive procedures that early on can harm the baby. That's why they usually only do one ultrasound during the first trimester. Try to hang in there while you wait for the results. Did they tell you how long you have to wait?

They can see if the baby is in the right stage of growth....with my youngest I had a us at 5 weeks and there wa a faint heartbeat and came back at 6 and 7 and 8 weeks and it was going strong even tho you couldn't tell it was a baby...looked like a gummy bear lol

That's what I thought too but they wouldn't even entertain the idea. In fact I was recommended this Dr office and I've had a horrible experience so far. I called yesterday morning bawling because I was bleeding, had to wait 3+ hours for a nurse to call back only for her to order blood. Went in yesterday afternoon for blood tests, Dr/nurse refused to see us because I didn't have an appointment with them. They were supposed to call last night with test results but haven't heard anything. I called over an hour ago for them and was told I'd be called "right back" with them. Sorry for this jibberish rant- I'm just pissedoff!!

Find another dr....I had ultrasound at 5 weeks there was no baby just a sac at 8 weeks had another ansaw baby and heartbeat....They can do one.

I wuld say screw dat dctr n find antha 1 but 1st I wuld go 2 da hsptl.

Yeah go to another dr. If you're bleeding and you're six wks then you should be able to get an ultrasound

With this pregnancy I've had 3 ultrasounds 1 at 6 weeks 1 at 8 weeks and 1 at 9 weeks and we saw the baby and heartbeat all 3 times they can do an ultrasound they would just have to do a vaginal one more than likely

I got my first 1 at 5wks 2days cause I was having cramping but in order to get a sonogram I had to go to the er cause my doc refused too. But now im 14wks 5days & baby is doing great.
