I dont think theres nothing wrong with that as long as it was by it self, my daughters one went down after 1 week and her bellybutton is normal
  • Listen to the doctor. He knows a little bit more than your family does. My sons did the same thing and the rest fell out a few days later. Was told alcohol while it was still on there. Then hydrogen peroxide after it all fell off.
  • My friends baby had that happen too it fell off when she was two days old n she still has crusties and stuff in her belly button she is a week n a couple days now and she is just fine.
  • My daughter did that she will be one year next wk an I still can dig in her belly buttn an get tiny peices of it out . I think I've gottn it all now I jus had to clean it a lil longer then normal an the Dr swabbd it a few times wit sumthn diff it helped a lot to.
  • Glad to hear.thanks
Is there too much cleanin it? Lol im all worried now I dnt want to over clean it or not clean it enough
  • Our pediatrician said to clean it every diaper change.

I read that you shouldn't wash it because that makes it take longer to heal and fall off. It's supposed to fall off after birth and I don't think there's a such thing as "too early" for that. It usually falls off 2-3 days after birth. But if you're constantly messing with it or cleaning it, that makes it take longer. But yeah, once it fell off, you can encourage the little crusties off.
