I'm addicted to cloth diapering and I havent even started yet! I'm searching everything I can find out about them, bidding on ebay like a mad woman, stalking Diaper Swappers forum, reading reviews at all hours and I cant stop talking to my family and friends bout my new discovery. I'm going shopping tomorrow and am super excited to get things for my princess (who'll be here no later than 2 wks). My hubby thinks I'm crazy, but now Bumgenious, happy heinyz, fuzzi bunz, sundiapers, babyland, grovia and much more are a part of my vocab. I'm seriously addicted!

What's something u mamas are addicted to for ur lil ones?

  • @gatorbob oooo it was sooo neat! I'm on a mission now lol. The party was good cuz I got to feel and play with diff types of dipes and ask a professional. Now I'm all about building my stash, trying em out and figuring out a system. Btw how have u been lately? :) sorry I'm miss gabby tonight lol.

  • @gatorbob ok well theres 4 main styles- all in ones (aio) they're like disposables and you simply put em on baby and then wash (bumgenious), then theres pockets- like the all in ones but you fill the "pocket" with inserts for absorbency needed (fuzzi bunz) then theres fitted diapers which require a cover but are already "folded" to fit baby, and lastly prefolds, which are like the old cloth diapers that used to be used with a pin, but now they have this gadget called a snappi. Theres a ton of choices, but overall you can get away with diapering from birth to potty training for as little as $100.00. And omg the multiple styles and fits. I'm still researching but I'm so excited to take this challenge on! Ooo and vinager and dye free detergent are all you neef but dont use softner. I will post links tomorrow cuz I know I'm going all over the place lol... Ohh and you can resell your diapers when your done with em :)

@ncoughlin08 yep def a monster in the making. What system do you use? Oo and what dipes do u find work the best? I got diaper swappers downloaded 2 days ago and keep searching the forum. But I'm a newbie and dont wanna seem incompetent to all the women, cuz I see they kinda get annoyed I guess is the word, since same questions asked. Sorry I'm getting passionate bout this choice, cuz up til 3 weeks ago this never even crossed my mind, and now I feel as if I'm running outta time

  • @ncoughlin08 oo i've heard of the sprayers but havent looked em up yet. And gdiapers have good reviews, same as bumgenious :D but I'm "fruggle" and learning so I'm starting with diapers that if I ruin em I wont get too discouraged :) Im the first person round me to use em. I'm looking up wetbags and pails now :)
  • @gatorbob I hear if you bf that the poop dissolves :D and diaper pail can be a simple trash can with lid to keep away odor, you put a bag in to make it easier to throw in wash. And wetbags, are bags that keep smells in and u take with you on the go :)

  • @gatorbob from what I've read the diapers are in a dry pail, and a freshner, but I'm still researching that part. And yes metal with lid lol

@ncoughlin08 dif u find a good deal on inserts?

@lil_buggie_3 true and gross :P my shepard will try to eat anything (she's 2) and from what I'm learning a wetbag traps smells in and thats where dirty diapers go.

  • @ncoughlin08 yes ebay is part of my ever growing addiction

@lil_buggie_3 I'm not very green :( I actually got interested because of the $ cuz we'll be on 1 income so I can finish school, and daycares are so pricey... Only 2 semesters left! But good point for dirty clothes
