  • I work at a hospital as a unit secretary. I basically sit in a chair all day and answer phones and call lights. I am 27 weeks and I am being induced at 39 weeks due to diabetes. I am planning on working up until I am induced, then I am taking 12 weeks off after that. Now, I am not as far as you, and I may change my mind the further along I get. But I only work Saturday and Sunday, so I am going to try and suck it up.
  • I just got off of work an hr ago. My very last day!! I'm soo excited to start my leave today. I'm 38w. It's ok to work up until you know you can't do it any longer. I knew I wanted 2w @ home to prepare n freeze meals, and get last minute stuff ready. 3rd shift is a hard one to accomplish that. Good luck!!
  • I work full time 3rd shift. Some nights I am sitting in the medical office, and some nights I am running all over the jail answering to codes. (I am a nurse at the county jail.) I am high-risk and my dr. said as of right now I can work up until delivery! Its not always fun, but I want to use all the time off I can when baby comes home. I have an almost 3 y/o daughter, so I might take off starting in my 39 week if I make it that far so I can spend some alone time with her before the baby comes, but I am not sure yet.
  • I'm a RN for a home health agency...constantly driving, getting in & out of the car, then nursing stuff. I'm 24 wks with twins, so we'll see how it goes!! I'm planning on working until I can't get myself up or my OB tells me to stop..I'm just planning on taking 8 wks leave, but that could easily change with twins.
  • I'd say make next week you're last week give yourself time to just hang out relax get last minute things done its you time soon it. Will b a baby who doesnt sleep Lol so go pamper yourself: 0)
  • I think anyone is entitled to work as much as they want until their due date. I originally planned to work up until my due date (I have a desk job), but my doctor & even my co-workers reminded me that it might change for me as my due date gets around the corner. It does have it's stressful momens & I believe my state's Preg Disability covers up to 4wks before I'm due. So I'm keeping my options open. I'm considering leaving maybe 2-3wks before my due date. I've also been advised it's best to leave at least 2wks prior to your due date because it's fairly common for the baby to arrive 2wks before or 2wks after for most.
  • I'm working until my due date. At least that's my plan for now. I'm only 22 weeks with no complications so far so I hope it stays that way.
  • I worked up until my babies were here with my last two and plan on doing the same with this one.
  • I'm a paralegal and my job is awesome. I plan to work up until delivery, and then take the rest of the year off (I'm due 11/24). I'm only 16 weeks, but its been fine so far. I can also work from home so that helps as well.
  • I work in retail, last time I was a dept manager and I worked 36 to 40 hrs a week until my due date. I liked being busy at the end, it made the wait easier. This time, I'm only working 2 days a week, so I already told my boss I'll be working until my due date.

  • With my last pregnancy I worked up to the day I had my son. I left work around 2pm in labor and had my son around 10pm that night. I plan to do the same this time so I can spend as much time as possible at home after the baby comes. I love my job (IT Application Launch Manager), and I have a pretty big project I've been working on. I'm hoping I can wrap that up before my baby gets here.
  • I work at Kennedy space center as Custodial its very strenuous n I probably wont work my last month
  • I sit all day so I don't mind working up to my due date. It's just long hour days plus I don't get maternity leave or anything special. I'm just trying to make as much money as I can before going on break. I pick my own days and hours so I guess that helps me a little.
