Dilated at 31 weeks... Anyone else?

I was just checked out for everything and had to sit in the hospital on the monitors for 6 hours! So they told me I'm dilated between one and two and my cervix is soft and low! In the six hours I was there I had 3 contractions (braxton hicks) but nothing consistent. Has anyone had something similar and make it to 40 weeks?

Avaoid strenuous activity, rest a lot, and stay well hydrated. That's what my maternity book from nursing school says.

Thanks for the advice. I just wanted to know if I need to be prepared for an early baby.... We'll see at the next appointment!

Its the same wit me except I was havin consistant contractions n kept n the hospital..the doctors put me on bedrest n finally let me go...

Thanks, I wasn't put on bedrest and I'm wondering if I should be. It's a bit annoying because every pain and twinge and spasm freaks me out now! They (nurses and doctors) made it seem like it was no big deal, but I think it is. I feel like they are trying to save me some worry but I'd rather just know!

This happened to me at 33 weeks. My cervix was dialating and I was having braxton hicks. I was also 80% efaced.I had to stay overnight and be monitored. The drs even gave me 3 shots of steroids to help mature babies lungs because they were sure he was going to be preterm. My cervix has remained dialated and I've continued to have braxton hicks n pelvic pressure and am 38 weeks 4 days now. So you may still go full term. I've been trying to encourage baby to come now cuz he's 9 pounds but no luck. I was on bedrest. Just take it easy. Doctor also suggested no sex when your cervix is open sex can induce labour so id advise against that.

I was dialated between a 1 and 2 for weeks. I had my baby girl on her due date. My cervix was soft, don't know about low. But its pretty normal. Unless your really starting to contract or eface you could stay like that for many weeks. Body is just getting ready. As long as you get a 6 more weeks your fine. Just take it easy. drink lotsa water!

I have been dilated to 3 since 24 weeks and I am now 34 weeks

My mom was Dilated to 2 with me from 6 months all the way up until it was time to have me!!!!! And she went passed her due date too
