I take organic dye free childrens chewables and folic acid. I was taking adult ones and I'd gag and nearly throw up, well and actually I would throw up! And no, I don't take them everyday. But good about the folic acid.
@kristaf22, I have hypermesis too, and I still have to not only take the prenatal vitamin, I have to take an additional iron pill 3 times a day as well. My anemia is ridiculous. I try to take the prenatal at bedtime so the effects are better, but this iron during the day is quite literally sickening. I still take all of my vitamins though.
@praying4our3rd I am I need to start taking them regularly cause I am always tired out of breathe going up the stairs so hopefully the prenatal pills will decrease those issues a bit!!!
I never miss a dose. I take mine before bed because they make me sick. My routine for remembering to take them is after I brush my teeth at night I take one.
Uhhh i have memory issues like you Lol i keep forgetting all about them. I've tried reminders on my phone, taking them to work so I see them, taking them in my purse so I always have them. The only thing that works is having my husband force me to take them every day Lol, he takes vitamins so he always seems to remember good luck, may we both get some memory back Lol
For the first few weeks after I found out I was preggo (roughly 14-16wks), I took these prenatals from Costco. I think they were in a brown bottle with yellow labels called Nature's Made or Nature's Choice or whatever. Those made me sick if taken without food and the smell was awful. Plus they were freakin' huge! I recall missing a few days sporadically during those weeks because they were just too big to take lol. Then I switched to One a Day's prenatals. Unfortunately, they come in 2 different pills you have to take: 1 pink tablet & 1 yellow gel pill. These haven't made me sick at all and are easier to take. I've been taking these everyday faithfully :-) I feel better taking them knowing I'm getting additional vitamins for me & my baby hehe
@AKmommy I'm going try to take them when I study because I study daily around the same time... our brains will make it through these pregnancy days hopefully LOL!!!!
@mybabe i could never remember to take mine, until I put the bottle on my nightstand. That way I saw it every morning and evening before I went to bed. That helped me.
@ashley_smashley yea I just have to find something that works for me and get an easy routine hopefully something works because I don't have a problem when I do take them but remembering is the issue LOL!!!
I took them up until 5 days ago, because of constipation, being so very close to my due date, and the fact that a pill broke open and now they all taste like fish oil. Rinsing doesn't help
I forgot to take mine all the time with my first, he was healthy huge boy. The nurses even commented on how large his umbilical cord was. The largest they ever saw. With this one I was sick so much the first trimester I couldn't take them, and since I didn't get into the habbit I forget often. As long as you are feeling good and you are not having signs of your own vitamin withdraws (things like large amounts of hair falling out, teeth sensitivity) then everything should be fine. The baby is going to get everything it needs, it will be you that will feel the effects.
I've been taking mine since I found out at 5 weeks. Im 34 weeks now and I have only missed one day. I take my pill and dha pill faithfully.and I will up until I give birth
