  • Yeah kids are alot stronger than us.. But qyestion is do you want her in there and will the hosputal allow it.. It might scare her into practiceing abstinece might be a goid thing
  • My Dr let my 3 year old watch cuz we didn't have family here to watch him he saw the whole thing he was absolutly amazed he never wanted to leave her side as soon as she came out he held her hand while she was gettn sucked out an cleaned off.
  • O don't know how mature is she? On a side note my freinds mom made all of her not currently pregnant children boys and girls watch the oldest labor and delivery so far of the 9that watched *big beleivers in adoption* only one has a kid heh.
  • Hospitals here let anyone in. I just didn't want to traumatize her. Thanks! :)

My 9 yr old daughter and my 11 yr old son are going to be in the room with me my 9yr old is even arguing with my husband over who's cutting the cord. Find a birth vid on you tube and show her what to expect. I've been preping my kids since I was about 4months along I'm 32 weeks now
  • Two years ago when I had my daughter my oldest (11years) wanted to watch. I was having trouble breathing & they put the oxygen mask on me. He flipped out & started crying. The Dr rushed him out the room. He is wanting to be in there when I have this baby. We have been doing a lot of talking just like before, I really hope he will be OK.
  • i would say yes. of course warn her that it could be a very long wait and what all will happen. :) good luck
  • I would show her some clips of other people in labour to show her what it could be like just to see if she still thinks she wants to be there just as a heads up.
  • My 11 yo daughter wants to be there as well but the girl cries over tornado warnings, idk i'm not saying something scary would happen but jic I said no to her being at birth.
  • I saw my.little brother born around that age I think it just makes u closer to that sibling
  • My 9 YO daughter will be in the room. I have a cousin who will be in there ad well specifically to watch over my daughter in case she needs to be taken out for any reason. Also to keep her above my waste I don't think she needs to see EVERYTHING. She is looking forward to if and is happy to know if she needs to leave the room she will not be alone. She and I watched One born every minute so she's aware that there are things that could go wrong and would not want to stay in the room if something did.
  • Let her watch. Just explain to her that your going to be in pain and that you might cuss cry yell scream. But its normal and there is nothing to be scared of. My 10 year old son wanted to go in when I had my 4th son but timing was horrible. I had went in on a Friday morning and they sent me home and I wasn't getting any better and was in so much pain that I went in again that same night and I left my husband at home cause I figured they would send me home. Well they didn't and when I called my husband he didn't answer. We tried for an hour to get a hold of him before finally his dad went over and my husband was snoring along with my kids and my BIL. He woke him up and my husband came straight to the hospital and he was there only 15 minutes and I delivered so I'm glad he didn't get my son up and around cause they both would have missed it. And for the record the only reason my son wanted to watch is cause he talks about going in to be an OB doctor. He loves watching baby story.
