Tight stomach

Sometimes during the day or at night my entire abdomen gets really tight/hard, like it contracts. It doesn't hurt, but it's so uncomfortable. It lasts several hours. At times, I have to hunch over to breathe normally.

Is this a Braxton Hicks contraction? I'm 26wks.

    Oh no its surely not contractions...they hurt and are sharp pains....this must be your first baby also because I was the same way but contractions really hurt....what u happen to be feeling is your baby stretching or curling up in one area...trust me it gets more uncomfortable I'm 33 weeks and I'm able to distinguish body parts right now its so cute/uncomfortale

    yes its more than likely the braxton hicks..
    my dr also told me that your body releases stuff that causes the hicks more at night

    Yes, it's my first. And now that you mention it, sometimes I do feel a ball like a head on one side.

    Are Braxton Hicks more like menstrual cramps then?

    yea, thats what it is.. sometimes they will hurt a tiny bit but not bad at all..

    Yep sounds like braxton hicks... I had them with my 1st pregnancy.

    Yep. Those are BH. Not to worry unless you get 4 or more in an hour that actually become painful. The painless one's are just practice ... as uncomfortable as they can be, LOL! :)

    Ok just curious. I usually just get ONE big one that lasts a long time. It's kind of annoying, lol!
