C-Section vs Induction with Unmoving Cervix
So last appointment OB gave me the choice of either a c-section or an induction. I have to decide by next Friday's appointment. Tuesday I'll be 39 weeks. By the time either procedure is scheduled I'll be at least 40 weeks. The reasoning is that since I am super tiny he doesnt eant the baby yo get too big if I try for a vaginal delivery.
The problem is that my cervix has not changed at all. Zero dilatation and zero effacement. Also the baby is carrying really high and hasn't dropped.
If I'm induced they will use cervadil, which they will put inside me (if he says they will use cycotec there is no way I will agree after teadong up on it). I guess possibly pitocin after that and I'm definitely getting an epidural.
I know c-section means longer recovery and possible blood clot, reduced chance of vbac next pregnancy etc.. I just dont think labor will progress since my cervix has been uncooperative to this point!
Anyone else have a lame cervix like mine? This is not how I pictured a vaginal birth would go

My real name is Paloma! Anyone from my parent's generation loves to sing una Paloma blanca to me :">
My mom was in labor for 24 hours with me and didn't progress. I thought my water was going to break and I'd have a normal delivery... I guess it could happen in the next few days..
That said, cervidil is a tiny white dissolvable pill, it isn't messy like yeast infection meds or hard and irritating like nuva ring (omg, I hated that thing!) So if you really want a vaginal birth, I don't think you have anything to lose by attempting it before having a csection. If you do, I think I would have dilated faster if i'd used the excercise ball and walked around more, so make sure you ask the nurses when you can get up!
