  • I think I am going to get a Mirena inserted....then I don't have to worry about taking anything or changing rings or anything...
  • Doesn't that have crazy side effects? I'm weird about hormones added to me..I cry enough without them! And it freaks me out to not have control of it..like what if it makes me crazy?? I hate the way I feel during pms and at the beginning of this preg I felt like that times 10. Idk what to do lol @1sttimerarmywife

im getting back on birth control after the baby idk what type tho.. i was on it before i stopped using it about 4 months before i got pregnant because it was givning me blood clots when i was on my pd (i was using yaz never again) so im just going to talk to my doctor about the different types but i surely dont want anything inserted in me
  • IUDs are not hormones, they sit in the uterus and prevent implantation...you may have spotting initially but then it goes away...ib stay away from extra hormones too :)
  • *I stay away* stupid phone :) my best friend has one and she loves it
  • @lilpeapod913 they have a non hormone iud. I heard the insertion is painful they compare it to a contraction. But the scariest part is that u can get pregnant cuz they slip out. Ur not allowed to go into a spa. And u do a check once a month to make sure its still where its supposed to b. But if it falls or slides sideways u wont even know to use a back up plan. I'm gonna try the depo shot this time.
  • you could buy him some condoms if he's that worried about it ;) no reason why it should all be on you!
  • I used Depo after my first, and Mirena after my second. I preferred Mirena since I didn't have to go in every 3 months for a shot, but it never implanted in my tissure, so 2 years later it fell out. I plan on using Mirena again, since it can be taken out when we save enough for gender selection (We're halfway there). PLUS NO PERIOD! Lol. :P
  • @fate gender selection?! Never known anyone to do that... How much is it, if you don't mind me asking.
  • @everyone thx for responding! Looks like I've got some research to do!
  • Total cost was around 20K. There's only about an 80% success rate for the procedure we picked. We are happy with these odds, and the specialist says we can keep implanting at no extra charge if we don't get pregnant the first time. We are having our 3rd girl in August and really, really want a boy. Lol. We go in for invitro on May 16th, 2013. Seems far away, but it gives my body time to heal from this pregnancy and to get this baby out of diapers before we get pregnant again. :)
