baby is small and may have downs syndrome

We went to a specialist Wednesday and our babygirl is measuring small by 3-4 ounces and her legs are shorter than should be. She also has an echogenic focus on her heart. They said she is either a small baby or has down syndrome. Anyone experienced anything similar? We love her unconditionally regardless but wont know until delivery in 13 wks. If I have amniocentesis I could miscarriage or it could send me into labor and she's so small if she survived would stay in NICU for months and may have other problems. I know Gods in control and has a plan!

It will be alright my godson has down syndrome n he has opened my mind so much! He is very smart we teach him as any other child n he learns well! Lol we are working on potty training! B4 him the thought of my baby having down syndrome would have been devastating but God I couldn't ask for a better child to love! Hopefully your baby fine but if not don't be discouraged.

Im praying that you're just having a small baby. I have a cousin who is 5 who has down syndrome and he's pretty smart. They sent him to a school type thing from an early age and he learned sign language and some Spanish

Thanks y'all! I just wish I knew either way. If she does have it then I want to quit my job and stay home with her and my other girl but don't know if I could afford it with the disability. I would do whatever I could to make it happen BC I want to be the one to care of her 24/7. Just hoping and praying for the best and that these next 3 months will hurry up!

regardless you are going to have a baby and you are going to love her!! but i pray she's just especially small!

im having a small baby. she has been measuring small almost by a pound but my dr's arent worried. maybe your just having a tiny baby like me

Praying for you. There are a bunch of different things they look at for downs. The doctor told us the focus on the heart is very common. Our son has one too. I wish you the best of luck!
