please help i dont know how to read my pregnancy test!

edited June 2011 in Pregnant
And I know you're probably thinking 'what kind of idiot can't read a simple pregnancy test' well I guess that idiot is me. My cousin gave me some pregnancy test strips...they're like the dipsticks. Only thing with these are you don't get the two lines. There are two squares on it and one of them are supposed to change colors. My cousin said that as long as it doesn't turn yellow or brown its positive. She's two months and hers is like a blueish green. Mine is light light green. Also I think I read it a bit late AND I set the strip down I didn't hold it up after dipping it. Idk if that would effect the test answer. Please if this kind of test sounds familiar to you and you have experience with it any feedback is appreciated.

No box my cousin literally had a ton of them in her purse because we have a big family and a superstition that continues to show true is that our pregnancies happen in threes and since she's first this time around she's taken it upon herself to hand them our to all the girls. And yes I've been googling like crazy and I get nothing. I'm getting discouraged cus I read it late and I layed it down on the counter it probably is a false positive if the green does in fact mean positive because I'm only about 10 dpo.
  • hmm well how many tests did she give u? if u have more try again.. and maybe next time do it while shes with u since she knows what shes doing. lol how fun... me, my sister and three of our cousins were pregnant at the same time all five babies born the same year starting in may and the last in august. they are all 6 now and its so fun having them grow up together
  • @cee808 that's how my family is all the kids are really close in age and I have tons of cousins and we were all raised as brothers and sisters so they kids think they're all cousins not second cousins and they call us all auntie and uncle.

@mama_kat I wish I had the company name! I'm thinking about testing again but since I'm only about 10 dpo I'm thinking it would be a waste because I should use my first morning pee. And my good for nothing cousin who gave them to me isn't answering her phone. I'm in crisis mode and she's not answer. I'm jk about the good for nothing part but uggh I need answers!
  • yes thats exactly how our kids are.. they are second cousins but just as close as first cousins like we were. and they all call us aunty and uncle too.. anyway if its too early just wait a little. i know ur prob anxious tho lol
  • @oregonmama that's how it was for me at first but there are some dip strip tests.
@kristaf22 I will. Ill probably see her later today and have her help me with the test or show me exactly how she did hers. Heck, I might even go buy some cassette tests from dollar store.
@cee808 I can't wait til I have a little one for everyone to go crazy over. My family loves it when we get a new child. When someone is in labor we ALL show up to the hospital. Its like a party in the waiting room.

  • if u buy some don't buy the cheaper ones because they are less sensitive.. i bought a cheap one this last time and the lines were so faint.
  • That sounds confusing just reading it.lol I would go and get one for the store that's easy to read. Those really do sound confusing as hell.lol
