I never liked the idea of putting my baby in a truck it only has a front seat and its stick so if all 3 of us go somewhere il be squished in the middle. What are your opinions on babys in trucks or have you done it?
I have seen it done I hate having such a small car...pt cruiser for safety reasons but if u do face the car seat opposite the window...its not the safest form of transportation but it doesn't make u a bad mom
My 5 yo has to ride in her daddy's truck every now and then. It makes me super nervous, but it doesn't phase either of them, lol. We're about to have our second baby though, so we'll be going everywhere in my car from now on.
If you can turn off the air bag I wouldnt worry to much... but thats just me. They use to put kids in the back seat with out a car seat. And if they werent old enought they sat on mommys lap in the front seat... And our parents are still here...
Maybe call the fire department and get their recommendation since they help get folks situated with car seats and whatnot. You know, just to be on the safe side. @soontohavethree Ummm... I'm guessing that the folks for whom old timey "safety" measures didn't work maybe never got to be parents. I mean, back in the day, people didn't wear bicycle helmets or have seat belts either but many didn't live to tell about it. Just a guess, though.
@blueberrysmom I agree some of them arent around to tell about it.. But there still are plenty that were.. Just saying. I didnt wear a helmet riding a bike... and I turned out just fine.... I think but I guess thats what happens in small town usa, were not so worried... were to busy living..........
Just don't do what my mom did with me, she had me in the car seat and put the car seat in the back of the truck, as in the bed. They forgot I was in there, left the back down and I slid out. :-??
So yes people did some pretty unsafe things with their kids back in the day and we are still around to tell the tail but I think alot of luck is responsible for quite a few circumstances. %%-
