huh?? specialist left me all venty

So I've been on bedrest since the 14th cause I was 25w and my cervix was only 2.4cm. The next week my cervix was down to 1.6. I had my consultation with the high risk doc and she tagged me at 2.8cm higher then the frist reading. Do cervixes grow? Is it cause I was laying down with a pillow under my butt for a while before they got around to the sono? Is it cause Bunny is sitting cross-legged in my pelvis at the moment instead of head down like she had been the past few weeks, during the sono we could see when she kicked my cervix*which she loves to do* it did get shorter? Is it just that I had a different tech with a completly different machine? Agh this is so aggravating and I can't get in to see my doc till next week to see what she says!!! I don't know if I need to stay on bedrest or if I should go back to work. Not that I can actually work very much I'm always in such pain that before the bedrest I was averaging 23 hours a week and I'm pretty close to loosing my job cause its hard to keep quota when I can't consintrate

  • It is possible while on bedrest the baby moves up away from the cervix. I spent 8 weeks on bedrest with my son and we went one step foward and two steps back the whole time. At 19 weeks my cervix was 1 mm and dilated to 3. With bedrest we made it to 27 weeks. Hang in there if you have questions tag me! Good luck!
  • If your cervix is shortening and you don't have a stitch its not a good idea to go back to work.
  • @beaded_bunny Were they measuring your cervix via transvaginal ultrasound or on your belly each time? The transvaginal is the only good way to get an accurate measurement on your cervix. Being on bedrest is not going to make your cervix any longer, if anything it would keep the length that it had by taking the pressure off of it. Those measurements are all over the place. I would definitely get another opinion. 2.4cm isn't that bad, just under the 10th percentile. I would be extremely worried and careful if my cervix got down to 1.6cm. I had my cerclage placed when my cervix reached 2.2 at 17wks. You should definitely stay on bedrest until you see your doc next week. I would also demand another cervical length scan at that time. You can never be careful enough. Good luck to you!
  • huh disability payments are going to be more then I have been making
