Inducing labor @ 38 weeks

Today I'am officially 38 weeks and my doctor scheduled me for an induction this evening.
I've only heard of other doctors/hospitals inducing labor after 40 weeks. Anyone else had or know of anyone who had an induction prior to 40 weeks?

    I was induced at 38 weeks with my last baby.. My Dr. will induce me at 39 with this one if I don't go sooner...

    I've heard of it many times, but I would never agree to it if it wasn't medically necessary. Depends on your opinion. Good luck Hun :)
