How early can I get an ultrasound..

edited January 2011 in Pregnant
I'm 21. This is my first pregnancy and I am excited. I'm not understanding why I couldn't get an ultrasound. My last cycle was December 1. I tested positive three times. The hospital said my hcg hormone was low so I'm too early into the pregnancy to get an ultrasound. I go back in three days to re test the levels. I'm calculating from my last cycle I'm almost seven weeks. My breast are extremely sore to the point I hate tossing and turning at night. I sleep a lot than usual and I feel nausea but never vomit. Is it normal for my levels to be low at seven weeks? What could be causing it?

  • My First Ultrasound was at 9 weeks you'll probably get one around that time too since its to check if its growing in the right place.
& my second one At 13 weeks(:
  • Just because its been 7 weeks since your period doesnt mean thats how far you are. Try to think of when you concieved. Thats probably why your levels are low.
  • Ya its pretty normal. You usually get your first ultrasound at 8 weeks. This is the best time for them to get a date on your baby. They can usually tell too the day at that point. Much before is kinda pointless for then to look. They can't tell much yet. As it is your first well look a lot like a bean with a heart beat. :) Don't wory, shouldn't be long now!
  • Thanks all of it was helpful. Yea Nykolle you're right I'm probably less than that then. Thanks again. I so look forward to my first ultrasound.
