I went to my ob appointment today and she said my white blood cell count is a little high so I have to go get some blood work done to see if i have HIV!!!! HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE? ughhhh I can't calm down..
Couldn't white blood count be high if you had any kind of infection....like step or flu? Why would they jump to the scariest? Hiv testing is a normal test done during pregnancy though...
It could be from stress, smoking if you do, or allergies. It could also be a reaction to a simple infection. Something like HIV or leukemia is the worst case scenario.
If it turns out it is nothing I would consider telling your doc not to tell you worst case scenario or switch doctors... you don't need that added stress while pregnant. Keep us posted.
@myowndisaster23 hah I just switched to this doctor because my other doctor made me sit in the waiting room for 2 1/2 hours...then the nurse took my blood pressure and was like hmmm its a bit high....I went off lol then I saw the Dr and told her I might have a uti she said oh well I don't know how to read the test strips to see if you do..if you want you can just wait it out and see if it goes away on its own! So now I started at this new Dr and they made me sit in the waiting room for over an hour and a half and then i didn't even get to see MY Dr!!!! I got to see her partner and this bitch like rushed me out of the damn exam room after she told me about my high blood cell count!!!!! Today has not been my day at all
@mommyo3soon2b4 I will be 31 weeks friday!!!!! And no it wasn't my first appointment...but I definitely wish it was my last I'm so tired of dealing with vagina Dr's lol
lol...the end result will be worth it!!! Do you have a regular doctor? You could always go to them if you feel you have a uti...im surprised your ob wasn't more worried about it
Yes yes I know I've had uti's basically my whole pregnancy....this new doctor that I switched to gave me a prescription for macrobid. But my old doctor wasn't concerned so that's one of the reasons I switched and also how are you going to deliver babies and not know how to read some damn pee strips???!!! That's another reason I switched I don't want an idiot delivering my baby lol
Ugh... sound like my doctors office. I'm sorry you're dealing with this... at least you're pretty far along already so I guess just prepare yourself for the headache when you have an appointment and take what they tell you with a grain of salt. (:
Yay I'm glad I have pretty nice and decent drs lol I might have had a heart attack otherwise lol being a first time mom and the fact that my bf and I are eachothers firsts lol
